I know he's somewhat outcasted by the department, but I also do believe he still has friends within the agency, with inside the department that allows him opportunity to get things done that benefits him.
So there was DNA recovered from a few of the sex workers that were discovered on Ocean Parkway.
Hair follicles that were degraded.
and some other bits of DNA that were instrumental.
Now, here goes the problem with DNA.
DNA is only successful if the person who committed the crimes' DNA is on file, or if you have a suspect that you can recover DNA and get what's called an abandonment.
And unfortunately, we didn't have a suspect involved.
for a very, very long time, over 10 years.
So there was no DNA to match it up to.
