Um and then uh when you look at the the ones that are not doing not doing so well is Europe and and that includes uh Germany uh and France.
Um
with both uh composites now uh you know in in contraction mode and and again the services side of the economy
uh i is certainly doing worse th than the manufacturing side and and um and in europe is it's being more acute.
There's a general sense that maybe there's a there's an increase in because if you think about the the manufacturing sub indices, forward orders are also part of that component and we've seen a lift in forward orders.
Um and then the other rationale or the other sort of
I suppose uh initial assessment when it comes to the services side is that services are more linked to the consumer and the consumer have been now hit by the uh, you know, this increasing uh cost of energy for so for fuel and so on.
So um they become more subdued in terms of their demand for services and and hence that's been reflected uh more swiftly if you like on the services side of the economy.
Yeah, it's a it's a punchy number and uh
Maybe maybe something to bear in mind 'cause it you know, Microsoft also was here in in Australia, you know, saying they're gonna spend twenty five billion in um data centers and AI technology and and skilling and so on.
Um but you know, maybe a couple of years down the line the the the whole sort of rationale will apply here.
So it's something it's some it's it's it's a theme that we need to be mindful of it's not just Microsoft, uh there's other companies too and and Meta was part of those announcements of in terms of layoff.
Um I think it's also close to ten percent of the of the workforce.
Um and then again, uh this is because AI spending for one has
is elevated and they need to find ways of saving money.
But also AI itself is is in theory providing them with those efficiencies where um they they may not need as many workers.
Yeah.
Yeah, so the the um the Japanese numbers in terms of inflation are are tricky ones because there's all sorts of subsidies that that playing into the headlines.
So so the core core reading that excludes energy for instance and fresh food is is way higher than the headline.
So the headline um is expected to to rise from one point three to one point four.
