Just really bringing books to listeners is just so important and it's brilliant.

It means so much to me that this was chosen by librarians.

If it wasn't for libraries, I would not be standing here.

Honestly, my mum had me enrolled in the library when I was about three weeks old.

I'm not kidding you.

And we went from baby books to toddler books to chapter books, and she brought me to the library over the years, and libraries are a godsend.

My little girls now, now I hope they're not watching, I hope they're in bed, but they're at that age now, they're seven and nine, you can't keep them in books.

Honestly, they'd have me absolutely bankrupted.

So thank God for libraries.

They can go in, they can take out, you know, they can take out like 10 books at a time, and they can choose which books do they like, which do they not like so much.

Which books do they love?

And when readers find the books they really love, it's magic, right?

That's why we're all here tonight.

So I want to just thank the librarians all across the UK and Ireland and the world, in fact.
