When you think about that company, right, it's employing thousands of drivers who all are paid a wage, who then go pay the money, you know, spend, as always made the point, people, you know, working people spend their money locally in the communities.

That goes into keeping the retail going.

And then the money is got back into fairs,

predominantly also through state subsidy at minimal level.

We know Dublin Buses, but that's an example of a public sector company that is driving the economy.

And we've got multiple examples, teachers, schools, hospitals.

Yet,

And of course, the workers who work in them, the question of the conditions that they're in, particularly in retail, we've seen that issue raised around minimum wage, around the whole issues around union busting going on, that there are significant issues there.

And

the way in which we are supposed to transpose the collective bargaining agreement from EU into Irish law, I think that it highlights again that need.

It's interesting what you're presenting there, that our understanding of our Irish economy, the popular understanding, the general, is very distorted, isn't it?

And then therefore what we focus on

is distorted and kind of what we're, you know, we're trying to do.

And I'm conscious as well, always in the podcast, I try to push a bit on, well, what would we do differently?

What would you do differently?

Triangular trade.

There's a wall where... That are leading then... Yeah.

And what's really, I think, interesting is that, you know, for people, this is something that's done pretty regularly in countries like Sweden, Denmark.

It's the norm.

where the state would essentially co-invest with companies and retain that.
