It's terrifying.
You know, when I started in the AIDS movement,
My friend and mentor, God rest his soul, Dennis DeLeon, I was berating another actor for not taking a stand in the fight against AIDS.
And he came over to me and he put his finger in my face.
He goes, who the hell do you think you are?
Are you God?
Are you judge and jury?
You've just potentially lost somebody to the fight.
You have to allow them to come to the table.
You don't force anybody to the table.
Did anybody force you?
No.
He goes, so who the hell do you think you are?
Don't ever do that again in my presence.
Ever, ever, ever again.
You don't know what they're contributing or not.
That's their path.
That's their journey.
They're going to have to stand up to God at the end of their life.
but it's not your job.
