And he wasn't the chief assailant, but he was there.

And I think he was involved in some way.

So that was my kickoff to my relationship with the people at Jackson State.

So you can imagine it really went downhill from there.

It was a very hard job.

You know, dealing with the administration there was very difficult.

And I learned a lot about it.

I learned a lot about covering the SWAC and SWAC games.

They're very different.

And you had to keep your stats.

Like I was like, it was a lot like high school, like high school coverage.

You had to keep your own stats.

So that really taught, all these things just taught me so much of, and humbled me in a lot of ways.

You know, for me individually, it would probably have to be not until I got to the LSU beat.

I was 29, 28, 29.

I left.

I went from Jackson to Missouri, covered Missouri.

My wife went up there.

We were only up there for about two years.

And then I went down and covered LSU football and baseball.
