And so I did that drive two or three times a week.

I stayed down there in Auburn some, but, um,

I mean, my check for my expenses was bigger than my paycheck.

I kid you not.

I made $26,000 a year in that job.

And in no surprise, I was the last Auburn beat writer for the Decatur Daily.

They then merged with other newspapers in Alabama.

It became kind of a conglomeration, and so they used other reporters.

But it was fun, and it was an incredible learning experience.

And people who are on that beat with me, I still am friends with.

One of them I learned the most from, who I respect so much, is Evan Woodbury.

Now he covers the Detroit Tigers and MLB.

But that was, yeah, it was...

it was a learning experience and it did teach me this or did show me this is what I want to do.

Like I want to be a major beat writer and then wanted to get back.

I wanted to get married, you know, realize I was in love.

And, um, um, so moved back to Jackson and again, another very short term job.

It's not on my resume is, um, the clearing.

I moved back and there was no job.

I didn't have a job when I moved back.
