Well um

Well one that's an interesting one is like why don't we recycle X or Y?

Mm-hmm.

You know, and so

In February twenty twenty four there was um standardization across the whole country.

So it said for y yellow littered recycling bins, these are the things that can go in them.

So there's paper, cardboard, um metal cans and and um tins, and then you've got your soft plasti uh sorry, your rigid plastic, your hard plastic, um number one, two and five.

And

There is a wee exception in some cities, they they might have glass in their their yellow bin, but glass is also an uh one of the recycling things, which we obviously take separately.

Um and so people ask questions about why can't soft plastic be put in there, why can't lids, all these kinds of things.

And so there are some reasons for those.

Um lids being one, hopefully soon in the city there will be.

Some lid collection near the soft plastic collection, but that's been been a bit delayed.

It's not something I'm specifically involved with.

But it's really about the practical element of it.

You know?

There is a lot of content in curbside recycling, you know, tons and tons and tons.

And so it needs to be efficient for it to work.

Recycling involves more processes than, say, taking it to the landfill.

So you do have to be practical about that and account for that.
