I am really, really mixed on this.
I was so up and down in my opinions on this.
And I think the problem for me comes down to.
I think the show is asking some really pertinent, timely social questions.
Like the show to me is about essentially having a boomer partner who won't quit.
It when you're more qualified for the job.
All of them.
For the job.
And there are all these questions of like race and to a certain degree class.
A lot of these things are catnip for me.
I love them.
But I think the show doesn't really understand or maybe can't quite commit to what it's actually saying about these things and how they trickle down to character display.
decision making and to how the characters interact with each other.
For me, what is really entertaining about this show are the performances.
I mean, Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre together, I would watch them wash a car or put some siding on a house.
Like
whatever, they're wonderful together.
The chemistry is very good.
And I think that a lot of the supporting performances, this is a dream cast in terms of character actors.
But from episode to episode, I don't know if I understand what this show is about or the questions that it is trying to ask and answer.
