The Eastern Conference Final got underway last night.
And it was rather surprising because the Canadians, as Jonathan Zaslow likes to say, took that ass.
They defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, who definitely looked like it was more than just rink rust.
I mean, they were off for a while.
But that first period, scoring 33 seconds in was Carolina, but then four unanswered goals.
Their defense looked terrible.
They gave up multiple break-rate goals.
Your eyes, Slavkowski, with a beautiful goal in the third.
It was just about as bad of a game as the Hurricanes have played all season.
What did you see in that game, David?
It looked terrible.
They looked bad.
Well, specifically, I'm talking about the transition defense because the rushes for Montreal looked pretty dominant against those multiple breakaway goals.
