But I really do think that a performance like that, just as I thought the one against Tottenham,
deserved something.
And at one stage, at 2-0, I thought we were playing quite well at that stage.
It looked like we might even get all three.
But you always know with the quality of player that Man United possess and the strength in depth that they have, the changes they can make, you're going to be under a little bit of a cosh even when you're leading by two goals to nil.
But I thought we rode it out and I was at least expecting to come away with one point.
And in the end, of course, I come away once again with nothing, which I find very tough.
Not on me, but on the players in particular and the club.
Well, it got away from us, I suppose, last-minute goal, which was an incredible strike.
I didn't think we were...
uh that much in danger of course they had a bit more of the ball but we we had some attacks ourselves in in that period at two two when i thought i mean the goalkeeper had made a wonderful site from benteke we had a couple of other crossing situations so it wasn't even impossible that we would score the third goal but when the ball sat up so nicely for matches he struck it so well it's a wonder goal of course from that distance an excellent strike
I suppose people would say worthy of winning a game, but it's harsh when it comes against you, especially seeing as it didn't come from one of their classic goalscorers.
Well, they have got a lot of quality, there's no doubt about that.
I thought at 1-1, when we equalised, I thought we were actually playing well at that stage and I thought that we were actually on the front foot and were looking, if not comfortable, certainly we were more than holding our end up, but the second goal was difficult, having worked so hard in the first half to try and contain them and then to get back to 1-1 and to go down 2-1, you knew then it was going to be an uphill task.
But I've got to give the players a lot of credit because
we conceded a third goal so many teams I think would have capitulated.
We certainly didn't do that and in fact in the second half we created a lot of goal chances actually so the second goal was even scant reward for the amount of play we had in their penalty area and the opportunities that were coming our way but at the end of course it was a good performance from the Arsenal and we have to accept that we were beaten by the better side on the night.
Well, we got a little bit divorced, that was the problem, you know, especially when they were pushing us back with their wide players getting forward.
We weren't getting out quick enough, I didn't think, after we were clearing the ball and as a result they were able to sustain attacks much better than we wanted them to.
In the second half they didn't sustain their attacks anywhere near as well because we were getting much closer to the players in midfield and
