But I think as a football player you've almost got that maybe deludedness in your head where you want to show that you can still play.
Um
Like I'd maybe I've had my injury histories, but I know I'm fit, I know my legs haven't gone and I know I can still play football.
So um I would like to play more minutes.
I'm not just saying I want to be there and sit on a bench, but you have to fight for your position.
But at the same time, if you are on the bench, you've still got a role to fill and a a job to do for the team.
I honestly may maybe this gets to me a bit more because I am a a senior player now.
I think it's such a a lazy throwaway comment.
And I think it comes when players probably get thirty-two, thirty-three, fifty-four.
And onwards, people go, legs are gone, legs are gone.
And I'm like, based on what?
What are we basing this on?
I mean, players maybe come back a different player if they've had a
uh an ACL injury, they might have to change their game a little bit.
They might not be as explosive or as fast and they adapt their game, but I don't think to say their legs have gone, 'cause I think people would know within the team and within the club if their legs have gone because it would be shown on the GPS units that they wear every day.
So I just think it's a
It's one of those comments that's went avo around for years and it's still s uh hanging on there, but I just think it's s it's it's lazy and I don't know what it's always based on.
Um
I think Salah maybe the game would change to me, but the style of play changed.
So but Salah's still a a quality world class player.
