And from there, I just transferred to the University of Maryland.
And my father had suffered a stroke.
And so that's why I started working full time as a sanitation worker while also being in school full time.
I had the best dad in the world.
So when he went down, I just knew I had to do something to keep this going.
And so I didn't want to give up school.
I wanted to make sure the bills kept getting paid.
And so from there, I graduated speaker of the class and then went on to Harvard Law School.
Yeah, I remember I was walking down this empty hallway and then this custodian walked towards me.
And I simply just said, hi, how are you doing?
And she said, are you talking to me?
And I said, yes, how are you doing?
And then she said again, are you talking to me?
I said, yeah.
I know.
Yeah.
And I said, yeah, I'm talking to you.
And she said, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Students don't talk to me.
Students would rather look at the wall than talk to me.
