Well, US Congress has said missing children statistics should be gathered and assessed regularly, but it's not been happening basically because of money.
It's an expensive thing to do.
But while we're waiting for Professor Finkelhorst's report to come out, there is other information we can look at.
The US Police Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, records missing people reports from across the states.
Their data does play out his predictions.
The number of reports reached a 23-year high in 1997 at almost a million, but they've gradually been decreasing since then.
In 2014, there were around 600,000 reports of people going missing, the majority of whom were under 18.
Now that's a quarter less than the old figures which the media are still relying on.
So the latest evidence suggests that the number of children going missing is likely to be lower than the headlines suggest.
Here are six of the latest topics that have come under our scrutiny.
It's a good question.
The NHS is divided up by nation in the UK.
So in total, the UK spends about £135 billion on the NHS.
For a Westminster election, we're arguing about England, and the NHS budget in England is about £150 billion a year.
Now, the coalition has had a policy of ring-fencing NHS spending.
So, unlike many other departments, health has been protected over the last few years and has even seen its budget go up slightly in real terms over the course of the Parliament.
And yet, the NHS has been facing a real squeeze.
So, how can that be?
Well, the budget hasn't risen as much each year as it used to in the past for a start.
So from 1997 to 2009, it rose by about 5.5% on average every year.
