So it's a big one and a big question that we're asking around back country hunters and anglers a lot these days is, oh my God, what is the impact and what happens to the back country if the front country goes away?
Yep, yep.
And this is a good way to make the front country go away.
So your OnX has all these intermittent wetlands out there.
Look at the top O layer and then just do some driving
around and you can do it very easily in the next seven days, do some driving around and go, okay, I'm going to go see this thing on the map.
And it is wild how much of the time you pull up and you're like, oh, there is nothing there.
You're there at the wrong time of the year or it's in production or it just does not exist anymore.
It's something that you don't have to drive slightly around.
Again, most of these things, everybody thinks these big wetland complexes, which are very important too,
oftentimes for different reasons and different species of, of hunter, huntable waterfowl, but it's these little tiny pockets and puddles.
And one of the coolest things like in Montana, um, because we have, you know, a lot of really shallow wetlands.
And when those rains come through, it is so cool in the spring to see, um, lots and lots of pin tail, lots of, uh, blue wing and green wing.
And you get to see behavior that you don't see during hunting season, which is really, really neat.
So yeah, just a quick recap.
Montana has lost between 27 and 33% of its wetlands.
