My parents let me stay home from school that day.

I thought it would have been cooler to be at school and some like a principal pulled me out, you know, and I could have looked shown off in front of my friends.

But um instead my parents let me take the day off and then me and some buddies went out and golfed at at uh Sunshine Coast Co Country Club that afternoon and

That was that was the beginning of it, right?

The beginning of the whole journey that's led me to here right now.

So it was just a

An incredible day when you're, you know, a teenage kid and those things start to come into your mind that this might actually be a possibility.

And then to have that happen was magical.

I was by the Texas Rangers.

I loved Nolan Ryan.

He was my idol and like he was he was, you know, m Mr.

Texas Ranger.

It was just all surreal, special and I you know, I can't believe it's already been thirty years and

Um, you know, I've been involved in the game both as a player, front office, and now as a broadcaster and I still haven't had to r have a real job since that that phone call.

So it's been pretty incredible.
