We're getting to that point this season, you know.
Matt, it always matters and there's an ebb and a flow to it, but it's go time now.
But there's also a thrill in that, and I think it's, you know, I don't know, man.
It's so easy for us as pitchers to sit there and point a finger or somebody and say, oh, we didn't score any runs.
One time I had a pitcher on my team, and he was kind of complaining about that.
And, you know, another pitcher on my team that was a pretty good veteran that had a really good Hall of Fame career, he just said, winning game one, nothing.
and sometimes that's what it takes.
You see those games, and I think if that mentality, I think that's why there's so much focus on the starting pitcher because that's him, his game, his fifth day, he shows up.
So the ones that dominate like that, we marvel at that because they lock in on every pitch.
Well, you have to do that on everything you're doing right now because currently just going through the motions doesn't work, right?
You've got to lock in on everything.
Oh, I think the Blue Jays do.
Like, ultimately, they're trying to win, and so they're going to do whatever they feel.
And if they feel like that is not a place for him and it doesn't best fit their situation, then they'll make that call, right?
Whether or not Max keeps pitching, that's Max's call.
Like, he'll decide when he wants to finish pitching.
I think people forget that.
Like, sometimes we jump the gun on just pushing people into retirement, you know?
And you look at his numbers, and you go, well, Kukua's not Max Scherzer anymore, right?
but he can be, he's like the Toby Keith song.
