I think that, you know, Morgan is a member of our team.
And, you know, I had a great meeting with Morgan, you know, at the end of the year, which, you know, obviously you keep most of that private.
But I think sometimes, you know, Morgan is a great player.
He's been a great player for the Toronto Maple Leafs for a long time through a lot of different situations.
uh you know variations of this team and you know you look at a lot of the records uh that exist within the Leafs and a lot of them have Borja Salming and then they have Morgan Riley and he's uh knocking on door of a thousand games and he's a wonderful teammate and an amazing guy um and he's a real good player and he's been a real good player for us for a long time and a real good player um you know in the playoffs for us uh over the years and he's a special guy and so for me uh you know
Yeah, you always kind of look at situations and, and, you know, you want to find the best thing for Morgan, his family and the best thing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
And I think all of us, Morgan included, are more than happy to have Morgan as a member of
of this team because he is such a special guy and so important to, to what we've been doing and continue to, to do.
So for me, I don't think there's much, you know, discussion that, that needs to be had.
Morgan knows how we feel about him and, and we know how he feels about the Leafs and how he feels about the fans and how he feels about his teammates.
So that's just kind of business as usual, I'd say.
Yeah, I think for sure, you know, for John and Matt, that's definitely been a point of emphasis.
I think, you know, certainly a lot of times you talk about just getting the puck into the hands of the forwards, but even inside of a line rush game or offensive zone possession, you know, and I think using Morgan, like Morgan is at his best when he's free and when he's roving and using his skating and creating and, you know,
We want guys to be clean on retrievals and clean on exits and clean on entry and able to enhance the offense.
We don't want to have a situation where we've got three forwards trying to create offense and two defensemen not.
To be able to do that, you have to have guys that have the skill set, the intelligence, the
and understand the situations of the game to execute.
And so I think if you look at like Emil Andre, I think he's got some of that transition play in his game.
You know, certainly Morgan has it, Oliver, Tanny, you know, for a guy who doesn't maybe get, you know, a ton offensively, his retrieval game and decisions that he makes offensively.
