Teaching, I found to be the best tool for learning that exists.
And we teach in a number of ways.
We teach from just like literally getting up in front of a group of people and speaking, teaching them.
We teach through writing, right?
You write a book, you're in the process of writing.
You and Dave are talking about this right now, right?
That's the ultimate form of teaching is getting those messy thoughts out of your head onto the page.
You're getting clear on who you are and what you believe because you're doing that.
And then the flywheel just keeps spinning, right?
Learn, work.
So fuel the intake engine, run experiments, reflect on that, teach it to others, and then keep it going and keep it going.
I think if you keep doing that, again, day after day after day, spending parts of each day doing all of those things,
You look back after a year, I like your chances.
I'm probably going to bet on you if you can string those days along.
Again, the problem is consistency or lack thereof, and that's why it doesn't necessarily always work for people.
But if you can keep doing it day after day, stack days, I like your chances of good things happening, of you getting luckier, or at least it appears as luck to others, but really it's because of you and your consistency in doing the work.
Imitate, then innovate.
David Perel said that on my show.
One of the things when I was doing research on this, I had no idea that the Beatles started out as a cover band.
They'd always written their own stuff.
