Why are we, what, what is this last three weeks been for?

That's just silliness to me.

Well, this is where you have to scrounge up every morsel of professional intelligence you can, and you just really got to be on the ball here.

It feels like they weren't to get the process started, and they definitely need to be now.

So I think you do the interviews that you want to do.

And I think you need to have backup candidates in place and backup in place.

I think to a degree, you can assume you would be a destination teams or coaches would want to come to.

So, I mean, you know, I think you can assume the opportunity to come and coach McDavid in dry side when being a cup window and all that would be, you know, for the labialettes and other candidates out there.

So you probably have the luxury of being able to wait a little bit.

But these guys can't sit around forever.

So they've got to thread a needle here, Bob.

But they definitely need to prepare for the idea that they're not going to be able to talk to Bruce Cassidy.

And they need to get their due diligence done on some other guys.

And then it's timing.

I mean, we don't know how the timing of this is going to work because we don't have all the details.

We don't know who else is talking.

We don't know how hard LA is pushing to find the guy.

We don't know some of those other variables.

But they've got to do this carefully.

Because what they can't do is be left standing with no ability to talk to Cassidy, Laviolette hired somewhere else, and it's like, here's Craig Berube, who when this whole thing started, would have been your fourth choice behind Cassidy, Knobloch, Laviolette.
