Change in all of us takes time.
I think what this has done is given me a chance to get outside my body and have a look and see what I'm doing and understand you needed to change.
You needed to grow.
That's how Mike Babcock talked his way into Columbus.
Stuff like that.
And what happened, Bob?
How'd that work out?
So my point here is the owners are the only team that's opened the door to this.
And what has happened?
One of the best orators in the game has talked his way through the door with the owner, the owner's son, the president, the general manager, the players, the leadership group.
He's talked his way through the door, Bob, with no history of having shown himself to have figured anything out.
I would say based on what happened with Toronto, everything we figured out, and what clearly something happened in Columbus.
For sure.
And let me finish this, Bob.
This will be my overarching opinion and point on this.
He's talked his way through the door.
Mike Babcock is a brilliant talker.
He is.
And he's inspiring and he's all of those things.
What I would say is the Edmonton Oilers really, really need to make sure, and had better hope and cross their fingers, that he has changed.
