I'm just going to go for a quick walk.

I pop outside into the brisk two-degree Dunedin air and take a walk past the block of flats.

It's a fairly simple two-story building that's split up into about 10 different tiny single bedroom units.

A simple glance from the outside makes it clear that those residing here are likely in some kind of state housing arrangement.

I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb walking in here shortly, and you never know who you're going to meet.

Before I pull the trigger though, I retreat to a nearby CAF to make some notes and a game plan.

I have to assume that when I knock on the door, it will be Gus who answers, and be sure that I'm prepared accordingly.

I'll likely only get one shot at this.

So 30 minutes later, I'm back, parking my car just up the road a short distance.

Cars are zooming past on this busy road.

To everyone else, this is just a normal day.

But for me, and whoever might be behind that door, it's about to be anything but.

Okay, I'm going to drive around the corner now and knock on this door and I'm praying.

Praying that he's going to be there.

Alright, I've just pulled over just up the road.

I've just been to a cafe and had some breakfast and I've written out a plan, hopefully, of questions and I realise there's quite a few different angles that things could potentially go.

Yeah, now I'm going to wander down here, which is just down there.

can see it's sort of a semi-industrial kind of area it's just down on that corner down there um you can't quite see it from here but after I go through when I go past I'll drive past and I'll take a I'll take a video on on the camera so you can get an idea of where I've just been but yeah I'm going to go down now and knock on this door and I'm really really really hoping that he's going to answer um

You know, something that I'm kind of expecting, almost preparing myself for, is that he may answer,

And he's someone who in his life, there's probably always been people looking for him because of all the people he's ripped off and done wrong in his life.
