It started to get difficult living so far away from my parents.
They're getting old.
It was the first time in my life I had noticed them slowing down.
And he asked how old they were, and I said mid-60s.
He asked how often I saw them, and I admitted it was about once a year.
And he just looked at me and said, okay, so you're going to see your parents 15 more times before they die.
Wow.
And that was the turning point of my whole life.
I mean, it's funny to look back and say that a single moment changed your life.
It's like this cliche Hollywood idea.
But that was the moment that I realized that my entire definition of success, of what it meant to build a wealthy life, it had been incomplete.
I was focusing on this one thing at the expense of everything else.
So that was really the moment that set me on this journey to try to understand
Why are people falling victim to this trap of chasing one thing at the expense of everything else?
And how can we change that?
I love it.
Yeah.
The whole idea was basically to say, if the current scoreboard is incomplete, just looking at money feels incomplete.
There's clearly more to life than just winning on that one scoreboard.
What is a better one?
