We don't know a lot about McConnell's health other than two statements that his office released attributed to him and two photos a couple of weeks apart.
All of this just in the last few weeks.
They had not released anything at all for about a month after he was hospitalized on June 14th.
What they've said is that he suffered a fall
and he was hospitalized.
And at some point he was briefly unconscious during that.
And he's faced some issues in the hospital as well.
What they've said recently is that he is in rehab care and not ready to return to work.
And they've given no timeline at all for when he might come back to the Senate.
He has not been seen in public in Washington or in Kentucky.
since he was hospitalized on June 14th, and he's missed around 40 Senate votes.
So this is an extraordinary letter here from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear demanding that he verbally address the people of Kentucky, verbally address.
There's also no audio.
He could, for instance, call into a live show and talk.
He's not done that either.
So, of course, it's prompted a lot of questions about what his real condition is.
It's prompted a lot of conspiracy theories online.
And interestingly, Yasmin, a lot of the conspiracy theories seem to be coming from the right, even more so than the left, the MAGA right, which has not been McConnell's biggest fans.
