I am not raising all of these high-profile dollars.
This is truly a grassroots campaign because me, as your next representative –
will not be relying on this money to make sure that I am not bought.
Like they are really, really digging in their heels to say, I may not have this money, but that is actually a good thing.
And here is why.
And I think it's worth noting that this fight is genuinely not over.
And I think that we're going to continue to see this redistricting battle happen until the next redistricting cycle actually happens.
I talked to a handful of Republican candidates in Democratic states like Oregon and Washington, where I've asked them, are you worried that the district that you are running in is going to be drawn away once the state legislature comes back into session?
And it sounds like they don't even want to think about that idea.
They're like, oh, I can't like I
I don't want to compute that.
I don't even want to think about it like I'm running this race right now.
And that's what I'm going to be focused on.
But I do believe that it is going to be a topic of conversation.
And we've already seen some local reporting on this, especially out of Washington, to show that the state legislature, which is usually democratically dominated.
is going to take up redrawing the districts to ice out Republicans in order to make up some ground that Republicans have gained during this mid-redistricting cycle.
It's going to be complicated.
There's going to be legal fights, of course, but I'm not seeing the end of it.
The war has started.
