And I think uh, you know, certainly our forecasts envisage uh that growth picks up uh globally in the back half of this year.
relative to the first half, um, you know, a number of the reports said look, there was some probably some positive impact from the World Cup uh and the two hundred and fifty year celebrations in the US and I think even in uh the UK the uh the World Cup and good weather were noted as uh drivers of of better data.
But, you know, taking these at face value, you know, I think
you know, for the US to sort of confirm that the economy's ticking along pretty nicely.
Europe I think that probably suggests that there are near term upside risks to growth forecasts uh after really solid PMI numbers to start the third quarter.
Uh and in the UK, you know, it wasn't just the PMIs, it was also better consumer competence data for July and and good retail sales numbers uh for June on Friday night.
So yeah an interesting setup because also uh we have the Bank of England meeting this week.
They're not expected to do much, but I think markets uh wouldn't be surprised just to see
Maybe
a slight shift in a more hawkish direction.
So I think if I remember correctly, last time we had sort of a vote seven two to hold rates uh stable and uh some suggesting that might be six three, so that margin just getting a touch thinner.
No, they're not.
Um, but I think it's quite possible that in all three uh things move in a more hawkish direction.
And feels like, you know, fundamentals are are probably supportive of that.
We just said that, you know, data looks like it's starting the third quarter on a pretty solid note.
And then of course we've got
I guess a resumption of uh energy induced inflationary dynamics again in the background.
So uh we'll wait and see what happens.
There are no obviously no dots this time from the Fed.
Uh we'll probably get quite a terse statement like we got in June as well.
