And so people are talking about all sorts of things from restricting US exports uh of oil, possibly uh, you know, playing in the oil futures market, um, maybe waiving for a a while some federal taxes on voice-verified

Uh and then the other one uh that that's popped up is uh there is a a law, uh a piece of legislation called the Jones Act, which actually specifies that US fuel can only move on US flagged ships. voice-verified

And so there's a sense that you know if that is changed uh for a period of time that might also help uh gasoline prices in the US. voice-verified

But I think the important thing, you know, to note here is that uh voice-verified

You know, a lot of those measures are very US specific, uh and and are designed to, you know, obviously deal with the domestic sort of issues around high gasoline prices, uh they don't necessarily mean much for anyone else any voice-verified

Uh and so, you know, that might help him domestically in a political context, but I'm not sure it's it's gonna help any other central bank. voice-verified

We already know that the inflation forecasts are going to be uh pushed higher. voice-verified

Um so at the moment, you know, we we think it's quite possible that headline inflation in Australia is in the high fours, possibly around five. voice-verified

Uh and it's quite likely that uh you know core inflation for for the first quarter of this year is is going to be um you know a rise of voice-verified

Of probably nine tenths of a percent. voice-verified

Uh and we feel pretty confident that with the moves that we've had already, that's largely baked in. voice-verified

Um so inflation goes up and then really the story on growth just depends um, you know, for how long this conflict goes and for how long consumers and others face into higher petrol prices. voice-verified
