How many bags did I actually check this year that I would have paid for?

And if it's kind of close, then maybe you don't need to hold that card.

I actually keep it very simple and I just have a notes and I just go down the list.

But I know some people have fancy spreadsheets to do all it and calculate the value.

There are all sorts.

But the other thing,

that I will say is the banks themselves have gotten a lot better about being transparent about the rewards.

So even with something like the Amex Platinum, which is again, as I mentioned, one of that close to $1,000 annual fee cards, they actually have this tracker and then they'll show you how much of the benefit you've used.

So maybe you have a $200 airline statement credit

And then it'll just be a little scale and it'll say you've used $160 worth of it this year.

And it makes it really simple to know, oh my gosh, I still have $40 left of my airline credit to use.

So don't overlook the bank's apps themselves.

In the past, they were not very good.

I will say that, but they have gotten a lot better.

It is 2026 and bank apps are pretty good now.
