It's a long time in media.

But, you know, I just don't think Netflix, their current strategy is not to pay a heap of money to get sport unless they can really own it like they did with WWE.

They've done a few sort of marquee games for NFL and I think baseball.

But, you know, seven years, that could change.

But, you know, the thing about sport is you basically, every dollar you can make, you pay to the sport, right?

So you don't really make much sort of extra unless you can monetize it some other way.

And so, you know, doing one marquee event works for Netflix.

They get a bunch of people sign up and maybe some of those people stay on.

But I reckon, you know, maybe next deal, Nine probably won't be able to afford to pay for it all.

Foxtel will see what Foxtel is like in seven years.

But yeah, my guess is next NRL deal, maybe even the next AFL deal in sort of 2030, 2031, that sort of time, will end up looking pretty different to the one that it's on.

Look, it certainly looks that way.

I spoke to the Rugby League Players Association CEO, Clint Newton, yesterday.

And some of the things he said was basically like, no, no, no, like, yes, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

We don't even know how much of this is cash, which is the sort of all important amount that gets divvied up.

But there's a lot of money that those players, A, want, but also they sort of need to decide where it goes.

And I am sure that Peter Vlandis will want to go out there and say, these are the best paid athletes in the country.

You know, this is why more people should play NRL, whatever.

And it certainly looks that way.

So I guess, you know, clubs are going to want a bit more, players are going to want a bit more, but I guess you've got to balance out how much the women's game is contributing now, which is growing rapidly.
