I mean, one of the things I'd say, and there's no easy answer to getting through this current moment, but I will say this, and this maybe builds on Dolores' conversation and comments on education.
You know, today, for the first time ever, a percentage of Americans 20 to 24 who are out of work are the same as those without a college degree.
The reality of the shelf life and the value of a college degree as a credential in the workforce has always been a sorting mechanism.
regardless of category, is changing.
Obviously, AI is here.
We have no idea what McKinsey study comes out.
We have no idea what jobs are going to show up 10 years, 20 years, 30 years from now.
But we do know there's going to be rapid change.
It used to be like when boomers used to, the data point was that three to four jobs in their lifetime would be what they may hold.
It's believed today that a young person coming out of college may carry up into 44 different jobs in their lifetime.
And I raise that because what is here now is rapid change because the jobs and the skills that make up them
because we don't know what jobs are going to be here, are going to move.
So as you say retail, Patricia, one of the things that comes to mind is while this might not help with filling up your next tank tomorrow, this is an opportunity to, I think this is one of the greatest restart in the history of work because companies have no idea how to use AI and employees are right there at the starting line with them.
And right here in New Jersey, in Newark, we do work with the Workforce Development Board in the local community around AI training on not how to build models, but how to utilize AI as a retail executive or as a healthcare worker, as a manufacturing worker.
How do you use it day in and day out to become either better in the task you're in, but also to help your employees
help your resume stand out more internally, because we know companies are looking for workers that can do more.
