Before I then ask you just to think about that future space.
I just want to bring David back in on this because over the last few years, David, how how big an i issue has this become then for EDF or are you focusing on how the future may play out?
Give our listeners a bit of an impact scenario on this one.
So sor so by the variability you mean what they would have received otherwise in the wholesale market?
Is that what so the difference between that PPA and the wholesale market?
Is that what I can understand by that variability?
And Bertie, then your analysis was almost looking at kind of how often the amount of wind that we have that actually then kind of almost pushes down that wholesale price and therefore kind of presents more of that risk for EDF in that size of the contract.
But your analysis, Bertie, looked at kind of, you know, you mentioned that we're kind of at periods where regularly now at kind of 40% where wind generation that's starting to have an impact on that wholesale price.
As I mentioned earlier, we're gonna have a lot more periods or a lot more wind on the system, which I assume will therefore kinda have a bigger impact on this going forwards.
Is that what did your kind of analysis or forecasting out the next five years look like?
Thank you.
David and
This was a research report that was proposed by the effer for L C P Delta to take a look into.
What are the biggest things that are concerning you when you look at the dynamics that Bertie's been mentioning and we focused on in the report?
Yeah, that's quite startling thought process.
And one thing I want to pick up, you sort of mentioned as the off taker, and I think probably I'm like many in the sector where you think of a PPA and a developer, and actually you don't particularly think of someone actually having to kind of, you know, purchase that wind or that renewable capacity.
Given that you started off with that discussion around who bears the risk and who challenges that, can you see things or are you starting to see things change in the market around kind of your products that I don't want to just say EDF are able to offer, but that kind of idea that we're gonna double the amount of wind, but actually how you're carrying that risk seems incredibly challenging.
Okay.
Interesting, interesting.
And again, not something that I think people have don't often think of that other side of the contracts.
