Or if you put that money into an offset account, you're getting a risk free after tax rate of return equal to what your mortgage interest rate is.

So 6.09%.

So, you know, you think about the hurdle rate and we sometimes talk about hurdle rates.

And so for you to get a 6.09% after-tax return from investments, you've essentially got to earn at least 9%.

Yeah, well, that's the $1,600 a month question, isn't it?

This is going to sound like the vaguest answer you've probably ever heard, but it depends.

So there's a few things to think about when, you know, do you continue to invest or do you target the mortgage offset account?

Things like job security.

Is there a likelihood of employment changing in the future?

You know, you think about how much do you have as a cash reserve already?

And we just talked about before about that three to six month sort of cash reserve or cash buffer that makes sense to have.

Yeah.

And then you've got to think about lifestyle objectives as well.

Different people have different stages of life.

And perhaps the next stage for some people is to start a family.

So I'll use myself as an example.

My wife is eight months pregnant at the moment.
