My point in recapping those last three years is I think we all expected them to struggle in 23.
They make the playoffs, so they obviously don't fail to meet expectations in 24.
When you go 82 and 80, and I think a lot of us might have said, okay, you're going to win 84, 85.
I don't know that you're going to say, OK, maybe they slightly don't live up to expectations.
This year, it's unbelievably clear.
You have not met expectations and it's outside expectations.
It should be the internal expectations.
And like the point is like, OK, now's the real pressure point for what is the response going to be?
Is it going to be to run it back with the guys you have?
Or is it going to be to change course and realize that this core, which when it's Salvador Perez, the guy we're talking about, is among the key components of it and will be 37 next year.
Do you realize that, you know, if not an overhaul, and I'm not suggesting that there's an overhaul because you've got Caglione, you've got Jensen, you've got Bobby Witt, but that there does need to be some sort of more significance to the offseason than there has been.
Having said that, this offseason could potentially include a lockout that throws a wrench into any of those plans anyway.
