Very respectful, very open, a very modern king who's interested in us but would never seek to advise me on how to do my job.

Same with former Governors General.

But I enjoy my conversations with him.

He's a very wise man.

He cares about things very deeply, cares about things that modern Australians care about, that we care about as a nation.

And when he visited in October 24, the events he wanted to attend, the people he wanted to meet just said so much about how he wanted to understand modern, diverse Australia from the angles he was interested in.

And I was delighted to host him on that visit.

They did.

And just in this house, the King, His Majesty, asked us to host a roundtable on sustainable finance investment in the future of clean energy and sustainable futures, a topic that's very dear to his heart that he sees globally.

He thinks the Commonwealth can do more work in, but a very modern topic.

And Her Majesty, Queen Camilla, asked us to host a roundtable on domestic and family violence, something she's been involved in in the UK for decades.

So these topics...

And we were bringing together what's happening in Australia versus the rest of the world.

It was a sharing and a deep interest.

That's the kind of relationship, a deep caring relationship we have with the Crown.

So I was 10.

I was in grade five at a local public school in Canberra when the dismissal occurred.

I remember it vividly for all sorts of reasons.

And I've studied it.

I studied it as a law student.
