Well, there are, yeah.

But if you bunch those all together, something should come out.

What's the New Zealand style of architecture?

Oh, it keeps changing.

I built a house about 25 years ago with my friend Ian Athfield, who was really the greatest architect of his generation.

He died a couple of years ago.

And that became a very influential house.

And it sort of lent a sort of style to the sort of stuff that's being built around Queenstown where I live.

And I'm sick to death of it.

Pavilions.

Pavilions, yeah.

I'm so tired of it.

I went to school in Christchurch, and there was Miles Warren and Peter Bevan, and they'd both worked in London in the early 50s, and they were very influenced by that sort of brutalism that was coming out of London.

So they were doing some very interesting... Most of their work's been destroyed by the Christchurch earthquake.

The town hall, they were sort of great enemies, so they were building against each other.

They'd both been to the same school and they'd hated loads of each other.
