People have idle cash sitting there, potentially in transaction accounts.
There's an opportunity to move that to a higher interest bearing account in particular, like a business saver.
Bank of Sydney, we have one of those and we're seeing a bit of a shift towards
towards that where people are parking cash to get a return.
But one of the interesting things that we don't talk about as much, and some businesses do really well, business owners do really well, is making sure that they've got the right network of people who are like-minded, who've got similar experience, who have either been through this before or going through it.
You know, someone to bounce ideas off, someone to...
to have a chat, to get some advice, you know, to share that experience.
I think that's really important because, you know, small business and in particular business people, it's, you're running a business can be really lonely, you know, and having the right network around you or the right types of people around you is really important, not just for business, but I think personally as well.
Unfortunately, I don't have that crystal ball, but the sense that I get is confidence will gradually start to improve.
I think as things settle down and become a little bit clearer, there's been a lot of change and a lot that's happened in the economy and in business over the last year, let alone the last few months.
I think uncertainty will reduce and I think there'll be a little bit more clarity and I hope there's a little bit more clarity around costs and consumer demand.
And then that should drive more confidence from businesses.
The businesses I talk to are certainly in that place, but some of them are starting to act now in anticipation that things will get better.
So they're not just waiting around, they're setting themselves up for the future.
Let's hope so.
