So I think it's good.
So... Yeah, it becomes one of these things where, you know, people, like, for me, like, I love crime fiction.
But there's crime fiction that's very...
You know, elevated's not the right word, but there's stuff that you can reread over and over again, like The Friends of Eddie Coyle by George V. Higgins, or like Tana French's In the Woods.
Like, you could read those a couple of times and get new stuff out of that.
And that's what I really aim at.
And then there's also stuff where it's... It just functions on the level of entertainment.
And if people feel like my books only hit that note, that's totally cool.
Like, if they just read them and...
never think about them after that, but they've got, you know, like, a little bit of diversion and enjoyed the story, like, that's fine for me, but there is more, and I hope they do reward rereading.
Well,
I mean, there's so many good ones, but also, you know, you're always discovering people that are new and really great.
A couple years ago, I went through a phase of reading a lot of Australian authors.
And Peter Corris has written a bunch of really great detective novels.
And, you know, the Peter Temple Jack Irish series is terrific.
They made a great TV show starring Guy Pearce out of those.
So, like, there's
there's always new cool stuff to discover and a lot of great newer voices as well.
But, you know, it always comes back to like the handful of like Dashiell Hammond, Raymond Chandler, Josephine Tay is a big one for me.
