And one of the big things, so obviously having a private practice has all these amazing benefits to it.
But another big thing that was important to me is death advocacy.
So with my son, he's now he's gonna be fourteen actually in about two weeks.
But with kind of going through everything with him, even though this is such a great area for deaf individuals, there's still a lot of gaps.
And so going through all of this with him, I was able to see some of those gaps.
And so I wanted to have time to kind of dedicate to that too.
and having this private practice, I'm able to schedule in time to focus on that and to help develop that for not only my son, but other individuals too.

So it is tricky when you're working for the school because the district I was in, they always wanted to keep everything in-house.
And we have all of these amazing resources or schools or educational programs that are outside of the district, but they always wanted to try to handle things in-house first.
So we weren't able to suggest those or recommend those.
So I was always
that SLP that would low key kind of say to the parents, like, No, I don't know.
I should check this out.
But now being on the other side of it, I can explicitly state like this would be a really great resource for your child.
So up here we have a phenomenal school for the deaf that when I was working for the school district, I wasn't
able to explicitly s talk about.
