It's not like he's running a ton of, you know, the Raptors went to a pitch play between he and Jamal shed for a clutch time basket in last night's game.
But it's not as if this Raptors team is giving him some Helio usage or something like that.
They're asking him to exist in the in-between to sometimes isolate and score and find his way to it.
But again,
When he exists in the in-between, you see that special level of playmaking where just reversing the play, he does it with so much speed and intention that a pass that most other people's, it seems like a reset, his creates a wide-open driving lane or a wide-open three.
That is the quiet stuff that powers a lot of the intrigue offensively.
But as you say, if Oklahoma City is the dominant defense...
and it's going to start we're going to see this trend towards like maybe things get a little bit more handsy and especially the good teams you need a guy who can jujitsu back and forth and maybe a guy sticks his hand in and sticks his face in and now you have a shoulder there and it's coming with some intensity there's authority to and scotty's physicality and quite frankly the finesse that he's kept at a much lower volume which is good from last year
Yeah, Scottie does a lot of hard stuff on the floor.
And Jalen, I think, but I don't know, Jalen is awesome.
He is far more fluid and languid of an athlete than Scottie is.
But I also think that I don't think he's in the same territory
as scotty is defensively but i don't i don't think scotty is able to impress himself upon an offense the way that jalen can and jalen because of his fluidity and i think his dribble that has advanced probably well beyond scotty's at this point he's able to use his playmaking chops in a wider array of situations and that's kind of all that's holding scotty back from taking that next step offensively
is to make a leap as a scorer to put himself in more dangerous spots so that he can really elevate his passing because as a passer and a playmaker the types of passes he can make the way he sees the floor the upper limit is probably like eight or nine assists per game but he simply does not get too dangerous enough spots to merit that amount of passes for himself and jalen is just getting to more of those spots and making more of those plays and his his numbers are insanity but
some of it's like open concept stuff and scotty is getting it out of the trenches right now but i think i've i if someone said they thought jalen was better i wouldn't have i'd be like okay if someone said they thought scotty was better i'd be sure that draft class at the top end like kade this year has taken that firm step but mobley mobley probably shangoon scotty franz and trey murphy trey murphy is probably a couple yeah i mean
um hartenstein as like one of the I haven't looked at I've been keeping tabs on all of the catch-alls um I don't think catch-alls are useless or anything like that I just don't pay that much attention to them I think they typically do a very good job of letting you know who's the best at stuff like listen Sam Merrill is like a 94th percentile EPM guy I get it
But the top end, all the names look right for most of these numbers.
Anyway, I don't... Hearing Hartenstein is, like, way up there, I was like, wow.
And I was thinking, like, could Chet and Hartenstein both?
And I didn't think that they'd be able to both get on an all-defense team.
