They were trying to bury CanCon as best they can.
And then from 9 a.m.
to noon, so we called it the CanCon Graveyard, then from 9 a.m.
to noon, it was an all-request show.
And it was a great show.
But as you know, with most radio request shows, this one was better than most.
half the songs were programmed already.
The rest of the songs were just blank, and I would take requests.
So I remember one day I played, I think I played three songs in a row.
It would have been Garbage, Alanis, and I don't know, Biff Hagen, Alternative Rock Station.
And I remember a person in power there say, hey, you played songs with three women singing in a row.
And I said, yeah.
And they said, we don't play back-to-back women voices.
I was told that directly.
And I just like, really?
That's what, it didn't occur to me.
So of course I was a, you know, a white presenting ethnic male in my mid twenties.
It was a blind spot that I didn't even know existed.
Women, you would have known it better than anybody.
And I didn't know it existed.
