So I was doing this show and I used to get this email from this one woman who's always complaining.
That's what I thought.
What she was really doing was addressing the fact that all we ever played were male artists.
And I would write her back emails saying, you don't understand this.
I can only play what I have.
And in the rock space, women, I don't get them.
I don't get these artists.
I was right about the reality, but she was right to address.
So anyway, just we would go back and forth for a while.
I didn't think that much of it, except obviously it stuck in the back of my head.

And I saw all the same kind of usual indie people and publicists and writers from the weekly papers.
And then I went to another show two days later and I saw the same group.
And I had this moment and I thought of her.
And I thought...
It's true what I said.
I'm not getting all these new women in rock and roll.
I'm not getting it.
Because we're mostly, it's all label stuff.
