I can tell from my own friendship group, that's not the case.
So maybe it's just women are more willing to ask the question.
And that's, you know, what creates a dynamic where a conversation can be had.
But then I will also say in defense of men, I've witnessed when they've been in trouble and that's come through illness, job disasters, broken marriages, bereavements as well.
Men are fantastic at rallying around each other.
And just for instance, last year, I was very concerned about one of my friends and I thought he was very depressed, but I didn't live near him.
But one of my other friends did.
And I rang him up.
I said, can you go down the street there and check him out?
And he did.
And, you know, really intervened at an important moment.
Two other male friends of mine, one was having a huge meltdown and tweeting all kinds of terrible things.
And another one drove around to his house, picked him up, brought him to a hospital.
So I think maybe men are done down a little bit in terms of what we expect from them, that actually they will share if prompted and they will look after each other if needed.
And I've often been quite impressed by that.
So so I won't buy into the usual narrative of men being these terribly repressed individuals who cannot share because you did.
And look what happened.
