Well, if there's nothing left, you know, is that the total disaster and that people have nothing to cling on to, that they cannot pray.
So that urge to pray, that impulse to pray can really strike us.
And let's remember that in every single society throughout time.
there has been some kind of religious belief, you know, some kind of intelligent designer and an afterlife and rituals around death and the way people are buried and the sense of an afterlife.
Like that's really primal, you know, so people might obviously have negative views about institutional religion, but there's no society that has never had some kind of belief in that.
So if you rationalize your way out of that, well, then what are the consequences?
Now, some humanists will say, actually, it makes for a very rich life because you know that this is all there is.
