that the trick to a happy life is finding meaning in life.
Is that the Viktor Frankl line that, you know, we have to have meaning in your life and meaning in every day?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We know from lots of other studies of wealth that wealth, now, a lot of problems are solved by money.
Not dismissing money.
Money can make you happy if you've got money problems.
But you will reach a certain point where it cannot do anything else for you and will never make you happy if it's without meaning.
So I think we're both fans of the British psychoanalyst Adam Phillips.
Absolutely.
And he has written the most darling little book called Unkindness, which I actually carry around with me and consult if I'm on a train or something and I want a few minutes distraction that doesn't involve scrolling down a phone endlessly.
And I really recommend it to everyone, particularly as it's so short, very digestible.
And he talks about how people often complain that people
They don't get more kindness from other people.
And yet they will often draw back from being kind to others themselves.
And what are the barriers there?
So this is coming to the point on grief.
And he was saying that when someone is suffering, in order to be able to kind to them, you have to be able to cope with their vulnerabilities.
And we cannot cope with other people's vulnerabilities unless we're capable of coping with our own.
