Or an arm strap.
Or an arm strap, because that will be a lot more accurate.
In the winter, yeah, for sure.
Then also look at how you're setting up your heart rate zones.
So lots of the kind of apps to do with loads of different watches will be different.
But I know for Garmin watches, if you go in, we would always recommend your...
at default your zones will be set up as a percentage of your maximum heart rate however if you haven't done anything where you're hitting your maximum heart rate on your watch then it's quite hard for it to figure it out and it might be just using kind of 220 minus your age i think which won't be very accurate at all so it's a good rule of thumb though 220 minus your age gives you a good
It's like a ballpark, but it's not very accurate at all.
What you can do is you can do a short test, which will basically get your heart rate up.
And so then you can get your max heart rate figure.
If you wear your watch all of the time, so if you're wearing it to sleep as well, then that'll give you a good resting heart rate figure.
And then go into the data in your watch and use the heart rate reserve method because that is the most accurate way to get your zones because it's only using the useful heart beat.
So that's between your resting heart rate and your max heart rate.
And that's how it calculates all of your zones.
Otherwise, if zone one is from zero to something, then you've got like all of those unuseful beats between zero and resting heart rate.
which don't need to be in the zone because if you go below your resting heart rate, you probably need to go see someone.
