Your husband will forget you if you gain an ounce.
yeah it really is yeah and you do feel like you know the media of mid-century america is so much of men and women eyeing each other across this massive gender no man's land and looking at each other like livestock and then when people are nostalgic for that it's like
I wouldn't bother.
Yeah.
We're doing a great job getting as far away from that as we possibly can, I really think.
feel like this is your big bombshell of this episode, unless you have a bigger one for later.
Which is true of skating as well, frequently, I would say.
And, you know, not as someone who skates a ton, but I will say I will be sad for the rest of my life about the end of Lloyd Center because we've lost the only skating rink in Portland and in the Portland area.
And that was such an amazing place for the people who skated and loved skating.
And also for people like me, who love to watch people skate much like Charles Schultz, also love to watch people skate, and also was a good skater and played hockey and also loved rollerblades.
And I guess probably more people should know that too.
But just, like, you would see people at the Lloyd Center rink who just, like, looked like they were on their lunch break from working at Staples.
You know?
And were just, like, skating up a storm, or just, like, people from all walks of life and all these different body types, and people who you would not, like, see cast in, like, the skating movie, but who were just, like, skating their asses off, you know, to use it in the Footloose sense.
And what's that about?
The sort of the aesthetics of like the body doing the dance.
Yeah.
And do people feel they have a right to defend that reasoning?
think
I think the naked eye can probably see a not thin person dancing.
