We could fill our whole conversation today just talking about your achievements and accolades.

You've won nine Olympic medals, five of them gold.

You've become the first Australian athlete in any sport to win four individual gold medals.

You're considered to be the greatest female backstroker in history.

In the 100 metre event, as I understand it, you hold all of the top five best times in history in

and almost all of them in the top 10, except for one.

When you hear some of those achievements, you've only just turned 25.

What does it mean to you, the woman that I'm actually talking about rattling off just a few of your accomplishments?

I love the way you framed it because those achievements are

will exist forever.

And if someone goes and breaks a record, that does never detract from that moment and that milestone.

And of course, a gold medal is a gold medal forever.

Doesn't matter how many other gold medals someone goes and wins, you've got yours.

Let me ask you a little bit about your amazing family.

The loss of your father, who passed away from brain cancer in 2020.

Kelly, you've always spoken, I think, so eloquently and in a way that resonates with so many other people who've had a loss like that.
