You said you were looking at potentially retiring at the start of, well, you were beginning to think about it at the start of 2020, COVID came along.

Is there a huge part of you that goes, God, I wish I just resigned in 2019 and didn't have to deal with any of that?

Yeah.

So you did end up resigning in 2023.

You actually brought forward your leaving date by two months.

There was mounting pressure.

There was also the ghost flights and a bunch of other scandals.

And the hangover from COVID, I think, really impacted your final year in charge of Qantas.

Are you disappointed that your legacy is partly clouded by the failures during that time?

Alan, before we let you go, how would you describe your time at the helm of Qantas overall, taking into account everything we've just discussed and all the different factors, the successes, the failures, the advocacy, delivering for customers, you argue, and shareholders as well?
