A case in Melbourne has been getting attention after the Royal Children's Hospital took a 15-year-old girl to the Supreme Court after she refused to be treated for an aggressive form of cancer.

The girl had the backing of her mum, who believed God could save her where doctors couldn't.

A look at that case and the legal complexities surrounding it is coming up in the second half of this episode.

First, let's get into the headlines with Chris Spirou.

Look, moments before Trump took to socials threatening to respond to the attack, we did hear from Iran's parliamentary speaker who warned the US against retaliation, taking to X to write, we prefer the language of diplomacy, but we speak other languages far more fluently in what is seen as a thinly veiled threat.

The shootdown happened just a day after Israel and Iran halted direct attacks on each other after appeals from the US president, with Tehran warning it would resume strikes if Israel kept hitting Hezbollah in Lebanon, which it has.

Overnight, the IDF struck the southern city of Tyre, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 30, according to the country's health ministry.

Now, Israel had issued evacuation orders for the entire city beforehand.

including its Christian quarter, which has largely been spared during the war so far.

Now the graphic footage of the attack has amassed thousands of views online and that has prompted calls for protests against immigration.

Elon Musk is among those agitating for rallies, posting to X a list of suggested protest sites with the caption, only by protesting repeatedly and loudly will there be any change.

A number of far-right influencers have also been calling for people to take to the streets, while Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, has demanded authorities immediately disclose the suspect's identity and immigration status.
