You add one young D-man who may or may not play for you this year, but you're trying to make the playoffs still.
You're still trying to push forward.
So you still need to find a veteran player.
So I look at them as a team that's going to be adding a D-man, whether it's free agency or a trade market, and then most likely drafting one with a second overall pick.
That's the way you truly bolster your defense for now and into the future.
It's not just doing one or the other.
Yeah, absolutely and I think that's the that's what you're kind of like you hoping for in terms of just the overall pieces that you have there and I think for San Jose
I would imagine it's unlikely to move out of number two, but that's the type of team that surprisingly gets to that point.
It might look at it.
Cause if you look at it and let's say that they say chase Reed, Verhoff, you know, Carl Smith and these guys, they're all the same.
Would they be the team that we'd be willing to move down?
Cause they had, they never thought they were going to be picking second overall anyways.
And they were already like focused on, Hey, we're getting one of those guys, six, seven, eight, nine.
I'm not too worried about it.
Are teams willing to do that?
I think that's the only thing that changes the equation in terms of them not taking a D-man at number two.
I think you probably still want something else if you're Toronto, but that gets close.
The second overall pick is significantly better than anything that Canucks got back in return for Quinn Hughes.
Yes.
Yeah.
